Presenting statistics.

Modern technology supports many ways for presentation of statistics. Presentation choice can depend on information requirement, user group, statistical topic, and/or presentation media, among others.

If we assume that there is a difference between user groups in both their information requirement and their ability to comprehend different presentation formats, then we should aim at tailoring statistical presentation to these different user groups.
The diagrams to the right show different ways of presenting statistical information.
Which is best? For whom? In which situation?

Current research seeks to clarify user differences and determine which presentation formats are best suited for both information and user types.
